Year 4 news
Welcome back! I hope you all had a fantastic summer holiday. Class 4 have settled really well in their new classroom. We have started on our new Field of Study – Rotten Romans – and are looking forward to our trip to Verulamium. Last Friday saw the class make some delicious carrot and courgette muffins using produce from our school garden. They sold like hot cakes! Apologies if you didn’t get the opportunity to sample one. If any of your budding chefs want to make some at home, click on the link for the recipe. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/carrot_and_courgette_63594

Children in Y4 will be given homework weekly. It will be sent home on a Thursday and will be due in the following Tuesday. This will consist of spellings and a piece of either Maths or English homework.
Field of Study
Our new Field of Study, as you already know, is Rotten Romans. The children will be learning about how Ancient Rome was formed, Roman gods and the Roman way of life. They will also be making their own Roman shields and mosaics.
Reading is one of the most important things you can do with your child to help them learn. Please try and read with them and to them as much as possible. Reading/homework diaries will be sent home soon. Until then, please record your child’s reading on the reading sheet provided. Many thanks.
